If you want someone to show up, take some photos, and disappear, this isn't the right fit.
I trained as a cosmetologist before I ever picked up a camera professionally. That means I'm not guessing at what makes someone look like themselves. I know how light hits a jawline, how posture changes in half a second, how to fix a flyaway or a collar without anyone noticing I did it. Most photographers learn to see people. I learned to read them first.
I’m making sure the version of you that shows up in these photos is the real one.
Some days that means talking a bride off a timeline ledge. Some days it means helping a founder look like the authority she already is. Some days it means sitting across from a woman who hasn't seen herself clearly in years and handing that moment back to her.

PHILOSOPHY
“The best images come from presence, not performance.”
I didn't learn that from a photography course. I learned it doing hair and makeup, watching what actually happens to someone's face the moment they stop performing and start trusting the person in front of them. That's the exact moment I'm trained to catch.
You don't need to know how to pose. You don't need to be a different version of yourself. You just need to show up.
I'll take care of the rest.
My Approach
I work with a calm authority that lets clients fully settle into the experience, whatever that experience is.
I notice details before anyone asks, adjust plans without adding stress, and capture the real moment instead of interrupting it for a posed one.
I'm also one of the few photographers in Michigan who holds a cosmetology license.
That's why I can run hair and makeup myself on a boudoir session instead of coordinating three vendors, and why the work reads as polished without reading as staged.
Fifteen years in, the thing that actually separates me from someone newer isn't gear or style. It's the ability to read a situation fast and make the call: the light's wrong and we need to move now, the timeline is slipping and here's the fix.
That instinct only comes from doing this enough times to know what actually changes your outcome and what's just noise.
How It Started
My path into photography wasn't born from a long-standing plan. It came from necessity and instinct.
With young kids at home and a full life already in motion, I reached a point where the only logical thought was: I can do this myself. So I did.
What began as a practical decision quickly became something much deeper. Photography offered a way to build a career around my life while also preserving the moments that pass too quickly: the in-between glances, the fleeting seasons, the quiet milestones that matter most.
Over time, what started as resourcefulness became craft.
And then passion.
And then a career built on trust, presence, and a strong ability to read what people need in real time.

Destination
While Detroit holds a special place in my heart, I photograph stories across all of Michigan: Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Northern Michigan, and increasingly beyond, for weddings, brand work, and everything in between.
