Photographer. Cheerleader. Problem-solver.
The person you want beside you when the moment actually matters.
Meet Magan
Magan Rogers is known for creating imagery that feels lived in — not staged.
Her work moves between weddings, branding, portrait, and boudoir with the same intention: to document people as they are, at their most present, confident, and connected.
Clients often describe her as calm in the chaos, quietly in control, and deeply invested in the experience from start to finish. She brings a steady, grounded presence to every session, guiding when it’s helpful, stepping back when it matters, and creating space for moments to unfold naturally.
Her approach is cinematic but never performative.
Timeless without feeling stiff.
Intentional without feeling overproduced.
What Makes a Photo Feel Real?
The difference between a photo that looks good and one that feels like you were there isn’t luck — it’s intention. A closer look at how authentic images are created.
How It Started
Magan’s path into photography wasn’t born from a long-standing plan — it came from necessity and instinct.
With young kids at home and a full life already in motion, she reached a point where the only logical thought was: I can do this myself.
So she did.
What began as a practical decision quickly became something much deeper. Photography offered a way to build a career around her life while also preserving the moments that pass too quickly — the in-between glances, the fleeting seasons, the quiet milestones that matter most.
Over time, what started as resourcefulness became craft.
And then passion.
And then a career built on trust, presence, and a strong ability to read what people need in real time.
Her Approach
Magan works with a calm authority that allows clients to fully settle into their experience.
She’s known for:
noticing details before anyone asks
adjusting timelines without stress
keeping energy grounded
making people feel comfortable quickly
capturing moments without interrupting them
Her background in cosmetology sharpened her eye early — for light, movement, posture, and subtle details that shape how an image feels. Combined with years of photographing weddings and brands across Michigan and beyond, she has developed an intuitive rhythm: when to guide, when to observe, and when to simply let a moment happen.
The result is imagery that feels effortless but deeply intentional.
Her Team
Magan Rogers
The Eye Behind the CameraMagan Rogers photographs weddings, brands, and boudoir with a calm, capable presence and an eye for real moments. What began as a practical “I can do this myself” solution while raising young kids quickly became a career rooted in helping people feel confident, comfortable, and fully present. Known for her steady energy and intuitive guidance, she creates imagery that feels cinematic, personal, and effortless.
Jared Rogers
Behind-the-Scenes MVPJared Rogers is Magan’s husband, second photographer, and behind-the-scenes MVP. From lighting and gear to timelines and logistics, he keeps everything running smoothly so clients can stay present and Magan can stay focused on the moments that matter. Together, they create a calm, supportive team couples quickly come to rely on.
Their Story
Magan and Jared parent four incredible kids, ranging from 18 to 8, and two dogs named Cookie and Cinnamon. Their life is full, layered, and a little bit chaotic in the best way — which is part of why Magan cares so deeply about documenting fleeting seasons for other people.
She’s based in Lansing, works frequently out of her Ferndale studio, and spends a lot of time photographing weddings in Detroit. While Michigan will always feel like home, destination travel is an increasing part of her work, and she welcomes opportunities to photograph stories wherever they unfold.
PHILOSOPHY
“The best images come from presence, not performance.”
From people feeling comfortable enough to be themselves.
From trust.
From a photographer who knows when to step in and when to step back.
Her role is equal parts artist and support system — making sure clients feel confident, cared for, and free to experience their day or session without pressure.
You don’t need to know how to pose.
You don’t need to be someone different.
You just need to show up.
She’ll take care of the rest.
Destination
While Detroit weddings hold a special place in her heart, Magan photographs stories across all of Michigan — Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Northern Michigan — and increasingly travels for destination weddings and brand work.
If it matters to you, she’ll go there.
For those looking for a photographer who can lead when needed, support without hovering, and capture the moments that matter most — Magan would love to hear what you’re planning.
